Overview
The Cadogan Hotel was built in 1887. Soon after opening its doors, it became linked with two of the most fascinating personalities of the age, both at the center of London’s social and artistic life – Lillie Langtry, famous actress and close friend of Edward VII, and Oscar Wilde, who rather notably was arrested at the hotel in 1895. Today the Cadogan Hotel has the feel of a private townhouse steeped with British old-world elegance. The experience is complemented by touches of unexpected modernity, which are subtly woven in to bring this historical building into the 21st century.
Located directly on Sloane Street, the hotel is only a short walk from both Sloane Square and Knightsbridge underground stations. It is easily accessible from London's City, Heathrow and Gatwick airports by either express train, taxi or limousine service. Guests can enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the private gardens on Cadogan Place opposite the hotel. For the more energetic, tennis courts can be booked via Concierge and we will supply you with tennis rackets and balls.
Dining In
Langtry's Restaurant offers one of London's most exciting dining experiences, combining a relaxed atmosphere with excellent modern British cuisine. The restaurant, which has been sympathetically restored, is divided into two rooms featuring high sculptured ceilings, a magnificent Carrera marble fireplace, oversize mirrors and an original glass chandelier. Photographs of Lillie Langtry adorn the entrance wall, while two ornamental screens give a modern touch to the main room. The Cadogan Bar is a stunning venue for cocktails, snacks and light fare. Afternoon tea, served in the Drawing Room, is a tradition.
Recreation and Health
Complimentary on-site fitness studio available 24 hours a day with modern cardio vascular Life-Fitness equipment and free weights. Jogging and tennis in Cadogan Place Gardens just opposite the hotel.
Features
Two connecting rooms, for private dinners, cocktail parties and celebrations. The hotel is also a licensed civil wedding venue, offering a unique and elegant setting for marriage ceremonies.
